You’re Not “Bad at Relationships”

Your nervous system has learned to stay careful.

Therapy for Women Navigating Stress in Relationships

Feel Safe without Feeling Guarded

You’re Capable in Life – But Relationships Feel Different

You’ve built a life that works. You’re competent, thoughtful, and able to handle responsibility.

But when it comes to romantic relationships, something changes.

Connection starts out hopeful, but then slowly starts to drain you.

Dating becomes exhausting – full of second-guessing, overthinking, and unexpected emotions.

Or you step back from relationships altogether because the effort doesn’t seem worth the stress.

You know you’re capable of love. But sometimes it feels like closeness activates something in your system that’s hard to control.

Part of you wants connection. Another part stays guarded.

Because Your Nervous System Learned to Stay Careful

Past experiences of rejection, misunderstanding, or intensity can quietly train the nervous system to stay alert. Over time, protective patterns develop to keep you safe.

That’s why, for many women relationships activate powerful emotional responses.

It’s why you notice yourself pulling back before someone gets too close.

Or analyze every shift in tone or behavior.

Or withdraw when things feel overwhelming.

None of this means you’re “bad at relationships.”

They’re just signs that your nervous system is in protection mode.

Therapy Helps You Understand Your Relationship Patterns

A unique blend of Pyschodynamic, Somatic and Relational therapies that creates space to explore how your nervous system responds to intimacy, stress, and emotional closeness.

Rather than forcing yourself to override your instincts, the work focuses on helping you understand what your system is reacting to – and giving you more choice in how you respond.

In our work together, you can begin to:

  • Recognize when past experiences are shaping present reactions.
  • Reduce overthinking and emotional hyper-vigilance in relationships.
  • Stay connected without losing your independence.
  • Communicate needs without shutting down or over-explaining.
  • Build a steadier sense of safety in connection.

When your nervous system feels safe, relationships start to feel different.

We’ll create a foundation of nervous system resilience then explore how past experiences and-related patterns influence how closeness and conflict feel in your body.

Awareness and grounding replace confusion.

We’ll explore your unique relationship patterns and tailor support to your situation. You’ll learn new ways to stay grounded instead of automatically recreating old patterns.

You gain more choice in how you respond.

As old patterns begin to shift, you’ll build the capacity for more steady, authentic, and emotionally connected relationships—without losing yourself in the process or abandoning your own needs.

Connection becomes safer and more natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Many women reach out for support before their lives become unmanageable. My approach focuses on the patterns you’re experiencing rather than labels and while those can be helpful, sometimes it’s better to address what is happening at a deeper level.

For deeper work, we will spend time getting to know each other and building enough trust for you to open up at your own pace. Because I work from a trauma-informed lens, I do not pressure people to share everything in the first session. If you do, that’s okay too. Over time, as you feel more comfortable and understood, we begin making sense of the patterns, emotions, and experiences that are keeping you stuck so meaningful change can start to happen.

Yes. Many clients come to therapy because they notice patterns of pulling away, overthinking, or emotional overwhelm during conflict or intimacy.

That’s completely valid. Therapy can help you explore what you truly want from connection without pressure to follow anyone else’s timeline.

You may notice changes such as less emotional reactivity, clearer communication, greater confidence in your decisions, and a stronger sense of internal steadiness.
